More identities 2...

Here's another identity project we completed a couple of months ago.

We also designed the brand communication style and delivered a regional press campaign.

More identities...

D2 completed this identity design about 6 months ago, but unfortunately, due to internal reasons within Magnox North, it will not see the light of day. Therefore, I've decide to share it here instead.

I feel it was such a good logo for its purpose that it deserves to be aired.

3rd Sector Community Recycling

It's been a while since I've added anything to our blog! D2's been so busy of late, that finding the time to do anything other than work has been almost impossible.

Since my last update, we have completed several large projects and I intend to post some examples of that work on here soon.

In the meantime, here's an image of an A4, 8 page short fold leaflet we produced for an organisation called Cylch. Cylch is the welsh word for 'Circular' and what Cylch do is establish and mentor 3rd sector community recycling schemes throughout Wales. Founded as a non profit organisation they receive much of their funding from The Welsh Assembly.

For those who may not know much about 3rd sector recycling, it's the action of reusing and reselling discarded items, often employing and empowering the physically or mentally challenged. It's a great cause, it helps the planet and gives value and purpose of life to people. Cylch are experts at it.

D2 was invited to produce a small piece of literature to promote their consultancy and mentoring services. Our response to the brief was once again, highly creative and original. We thought of how children automatically reuse and up-cycle in play, by using their boundless imaginations. We liked the positive attributions of this and developed a strap of "As easy as child play" to bind the concept. Simple, fun and effective.

Style development

I don't have any real downtime these days. Every time I'm at the Mac, I'm working on some project or other. That said, whenever possible I still make the time to browse through graphic design resources and pick up on style trends. Keeping up to speed with current styles is so important. Not only does it inspire me, it allows me some fun time by recreating my own versions of the work I see. Like this illustration I created a couple of days ago. (I think I'll put this on a canvas for my home or possibly the studio)

Time for a coffee break

I can't believe its been two months since I last posted an update on our blog! Needless to say, D2s been busy, busy, busy and as always, your own stuff comes last.

We've been working with Magnox North (Nuclear Decommissioning Authority), Bangor University, JuicyWin promotions, The 12th Man and Formula TKA on top of presenting creative campaigns and costings for several other companies.

This week I was really pleased to be told that an identity we presented last year was going live. The finance for the project has been agreed and the wheels are currently in motion to get the thing started. It's called 'Room 1' and the its purpose is to give a soul to industrial and  business parks. A central location, geared towards casual business meetings and catch-ups with everything you need at hand to assist you. Free WIFI, note pads and pens etc

D2 is branding the site, wares and customer experience of Room 1.
